Things are rolling along after Friday's win in court. Yesterday my client got free of the hated, painful electronic ankle bracelet she'd been wearing for six months. She nearly danced a jig. She's getting her work permit and going to check out the various benefits and classes asylees are eligible for. From all that fear to sudden security - it's got to be such a shock. A reporter also talked to both of us about her case, so I hope that turns out well and I have a link to post soon without dumb quotes by me. For someone who was a student journalist, I don't think I'm very good at being interviewed yet.
In family life, Becca used to ignore me when I came to pick her up from daycare. Then for a while she cried. That was lovely. The last month, she's been grinning. And today, when I appeared in the playroom door, she said, "MOMMY!" Yay!
I only wish it were time for the Tournament of Champions to air. I forgot how lame it was to not tell anyone what happened for months.
