Deck the Halls

Not sure how I did it, but somehow I managed to put together a holiday party in less than 48 hours. One of my good friends (Little Miss Sunshine) got a job to the state directly North of Useless State and she's leaving us this weekend. Turns out the rest of her week is jam packed with other things and obligations so tonight was the only night she was free for a going away/holiday party. Thank goodness I paid attention to my mom in the kitchen all those years ago. Somehow I managed to bake cheesecake, make sugared walnuts, put together a veggie tray, and make a yummy cheese pastry appetizer all last night between the time I got home at 7 and went to bed at 9:30 :-) Now my apartment is all Christmasy, it smells like delicious spiced cider and the food spread looks excellent. I feel so grown up, having my own little party with lots of people coming. So very weird to be the hostess on my own instead of the daughter of the hostess. Cheers!!!
