Could it be a one-term Obama Presidency? I doubt it seriously:If his stimulus plan "doesn?t work out, he may very well be a one-term president,? said Jeff Zeleny, who covered Obama?s campaign. ?It?s hard to imagine that he could be reelected if the economy?s in the exact same position four years from now.?
In addition to being woefully premature, I think this is also wrong. If Obama manages to secure a stable pull out from Iraq, shore up the situation in Afghanistan, ensure domestic tranquility for 4 years, and appear to be making efforts on the economy, I don't think it's "hard to see" his path to re-election at all.
Also, why the focus on the stimulus package? If it doesn't work, is Obama going to give up? Is that your theory, Jeff Zeleny? The whole presidency is riding on this stimulus package? I think that's pretty weak analysis.
