: Lowering the BarSwedish Prisoner Warned Against Further Flatulence Attacks
By Kevin Underhill
A prisoner in Malmo, Sweden, has apparently been issued an official warning after the warden decided that the man's repeated episodes of flatulence in fact represented "a series of concerted attacks" on prison staff. The evidence of hostile intent does not sound especially conclusive, but warden Anders Eriksson evidently concluded that the man had positioned himself near guards at relevant times too often to be the result of coincidence.
The unidentified prisoner reportedly defended himself by arguing that the events in question were "all noise and no fragrance," but witnesses disagreed.
In 2006, a prison-flatulence incident in Lincoln County, Nebraska, caused a fight that resulted in felony assault charges against the "attacker." I was not above writing about that one, either.
