From the Courier Journal:
Genny?s Diner owner sentenced to 365 days of home incarceration (33) (4/27/10)
A judge sentenced Genny?s Diner owner Frank Faris to 365 days of home incarceration Tuesday for failing to repair, sell or give away the dilapidated house he owns next to the diner on Frankfort Avenue in Clifton.
Jim Mims, director of Metro Codes and Regulations, said the case is undermining the city?s ability to enforce property maintenance regulations.
Faris was ordered to take action by today, but Jefferson District Judge Erica Lee Williams rejected paperwork showing he transferred the house to a newly formed entity called the Frankfort Avenue Preservation Society.
The Jefferson County Attorney?s office, which asked again that Faris be sent to jail, said the new society appeared to be comprised of three of Faris? friends. Faris will be given work release time and credit for 14 days of home incarceration he already has served.
