Während hierzulande an der Marktspitze bei den Großkanzlei-Einstiegsgehältern alles andere als ein breiter Konsens herrscht, werden in New York City die - seit Anfang 2007 erreichten - 160.000 Dollar von einer ganzen Reihe von Kanzleien bezahlt. Schon Anfang April 2007 war eine Liste mit 55 Kanzleien hier abrufbar.
Auch die Höhen der Boni eignen sich kaum mehr für Ausreißversuche, seit auch hier dank hoher Markttransparenz die Reihen stets schnell geschlossen werden. Lediglich Wachtell spielt hier (mit zuletzt einem vollen Jahresgehalt als Bonus!) in einer eigenen Liga.
