No Mercy

This week has been filled with good news.

As you know, I was a huge wrestling junkie growing up. I definitely am not so much nowadays, but I still try to know what?s happening a quarter of the time anyway. Plus, you all know that I was also (and kind of to the same extent at times, still am) a huge video game junkie as well.

No Mercy for the Nintendo 64 was probably, in my opinion, the greatest wrestling game ever made. I absolutely love No Mercy. The create-your-own wrestlers option, the incredible multitudes of moves that you can use, the editing of current wrestlers, and of course, multiplayer wrestling action, made No Mercy the best wrestling game out there. One of my favorite things to do with wrestling games was take the mid-card/mediocre wrestlers, and change their costumes and names to resemble people around the reserve back home. It was always fun watching a wrestler run down the ring, named after someone we all knew very well. It just made the entire game more fun and entertaining. Me and my friends would play for hours back in the day, and occasionally, every once in a while today. Sadly, no true sequels were ever made for it.

Thankfully, the Wii will soon be able to offer a downloadable version of No Mercy, updated with the current roster of the WWE. Now this is beyond too exciting. My only recommendations for it is to have a legends wrestler sections (I still want to use Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock, although neither Superstar performs today in wrestling), more offered moves and costumes in the create-a-wrestler section (an obvious given), a bigger ring so more characters can participate in the Royal Rumble match (a Royal Rumble just doesn?t seem like a Royal Rumble when you only can get four participants in at a time), and of course, online multiplayer.

I know this blog was probably a waste of your time reading since it had absolutely nothing substantive to do with law school or the economy (?). But alas, this is No Mercy that I?m talking about, the greatest wrestling game of all time, now on its way to the Wii, and completely updated. How can I not blog about something like that?
