Wie schon vom JIPS gemeldet, hatte die Bundesregierung einen Amicus Brief zur class action rund um Google Books eingereicht. Nun ist das Statement of interest of the United States of America regarding the proposed class settlement öffentlich. Das Dokument geht sehr schnell auf die Problematik ein, die schon von der Bundesregierung angesprochen wurde: Mit der Class Action wird versucht eine Änderung des Rechts ohne einen legislativen Prozess zu erreichen. Die Bemerkungen des US Department of Justice werden hier sehr deutlich.
