Das Bundesverfassungsgericht fällte vor 50 Jahren ein bedeutendes Grundsatzurteil, das die Redefreiheit als “Grundlage jeder Freiheit überhaupt” ausdrücklich stärkte.

Hintergrund war eine Klage des NS-Regisseurs Veit Harlan gegen einen Boykottaufruf des Journalisten Erich Lüth im Jahr 1950, die Lüth zum Anlass nahm, in Karlsruhe für seine Meinungsfreiheit zu kämpfen. Bis zum Urteil sollte es acht Jahre (1958) dauern. (…)
