Take a course from Rob Vischer (and from Barbara Glesner Fine and Jerry Uelman and Bill Henderson)

ADVERTISEMENTS

Our very own Rob Vischer was named as one of the 23 law profs from whom you should take a course.  Having seen him present on ethics issues, I concur, even though he's nominated for his teaching of contracts.  In the ethics field, Barbara Glesner Fines is named.  Also chosen is Bill Henderson (Indiana), for his course, "Law Firms as a Business Organization" (and he's a principal architect of the course I teach at IU) and Jerry Uelman (Santa Clara) on Criminal Procedure (it's worth noting that Jerry knows his legal ethics and, by the way, was the author of Johnnie Cochran's famous line, "if it doesn't fit, you must acquit").  Although I've never seen Fines present, I've seen the other three present, and it seems to me that all four are able to combine the practical realities of practice with deeper, theoretical thinking about practice.
