"The Lincoln Lawyer"

ADVERTISEMENTS

We went to see "The Lincoln Lawyer" as a last act of quasi-professional slumming before the end of spring break. The story does not quite hold together, as is usual for such movies, but it almost does. And in an unfocused and casual way, it tosses out some interesting attorney-client privilege and conflict issues, more interesting than the film stops to acknowledge. They might even be a basis for pretty good exam questions if tweaked a bit.

The acting is fine, with a noteworthy performance by William H. Macy in a role entirely unlike those he usually has.
