: Legal Ethics ForumThe Irrelevance of Law Reviews
From a report by Tony Mauro in the National Law Journal about a talk by Chief Justice Roberts at the University of Indiana:
A questioner struck a chord with Roberts by asking him how he uses law reviews in his work. "There is a growing disconnect between what is happening in the academy and ... in the real world," Roberts said. He seldom cites law reviews, Roberts said, adding that "they are not particularly helpful for practitioners and judges," though he acknowledged they may have value for others.
This is an issue that Abbe Smith and I discuss in the forthcoming Michigan Law Review in our review of Markovits's book, A Modern Legal Ethics.
