Grothe to Lead JREF

By Ed Brayton

ADVERTISEMENTS

I am pleased to note here the announcement that DJ Grothe will be leaving the Center for Inquiry to take over as president of the James Randi Educational Foundation. The announcement was made this morning, but I found out from DJ last week because we taped an interview with him for this week's radio show and we talked about it on the show because by the time it airs, the announcement will have been made - as it now has (how's that for playing with verb tenses?).

DJ takes over for outgoing JREF leader Phil Plait of Bad Astronomy fame, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities. I have long been involved with the Center for Inquiry and have long wanted to be more involved with JREF, so this is an opportunity for me to do so. There's a possibility I will be speaking at next summer's Amazing Meeting in Vegas, which I've always wanted to do.

Congratulations, DJ. The JREF is in good hands. Listen to DJ on my radio show this Thursday. I'll be appearing on his show soon as well.
