Freshwater Hearing Updates

Richard Hoppe is attending the Freshwater hearings and filing reports at the Panda's Thumb. His report on day one is up now. The parents of the student relented and allowed their names to be made public at the hearing, which makes me sad. I'm not stepping out on a limb here to say that both he and they WILL get harassed - threatening phone calls and letters at the very least and most likely death threats and vandalism as well. Given the history of similar cases, this is almost like predicting that the sun will rise tomorrow.

Day one also featured quite a unique attempt to justify having posters with Bible verses up all over his classroom (how in the world did he get away with this? Why did it take the burning incident for the administration to notice what this guy was doing?).
