Texas Execution

Texas is scheduled to carry out its 14th execution of the year, tonight in Huntsville.  It would be the state's 461st execution since 1982.  Texas has far and away the most active death chamber in America, accounting for more than 37% of the nation's post-Furman executions.  The Dallas Morning News carries the AP brief, "Convicted nurse killer set to die," written by Sarah Portlock.Convicted killer Michael Perry is headed to the Texas death chamber contending that he was wrongly condemned for gunning down a nurse at her home north of Houston and stealing her car nine years ago.
