Texas Execution

Texas carried out its seventh execution of 2010, last night in Huntsville.  It was the 454th Texas execution since 1982.  Texas has far and away the most active death chamber in America, accounting for more than 37% of the nation's post-Furman executions.  To date, there have been 15 executions in the nation in 2010, and 1,203 executions since 1977. Thee Huntsville Item reports, "Man executed for 1998 stabbing," written by Mary Rainwater.Texas inmate Samuel Bustamante was executed Tuesday for the fatal stabbing of an illegal immigrant in 1998, making him the seventh prisoner executed so far this year.
