OH - Attorney in sex sting surrenders law license

View the article here 01/23/2009 By James Nash - THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH A New Albany lawyer who was arrested in a high-profile sex sting at the Statehouse has not only lost his marriage and a month of his freedom, but he also has lost his right to practice law. Barry Mentser, 49, surrendered his law license yesterday in the middle of disciplinary proceedings against him. Mentser, who had been a lawyer for nearly 25 years, is permanently barred from practicing law in Ohio. With news cameras rolling, Mentser was arrested in October 2007 at the Statehouse by a Warren County detective who had posed online as a 14-year-old girl. The detective was part of sex-crimes task force and had come to Columbus to testify at a legislative hearing on Internet predators...continue to full post
