I hereby swear to never, ever again sign a petition outside of a store, or anywhere else for that matter!First of all, I am pretty well convinced that the average voter (sadly, myself now included) doesn't have any business voting on ballot propositions, so I should not encourage more propositions making it onto the ballot. With the exception of people who actually have time to read all of the propositions, consider their fiscal impact, read pro and con positions, most voters are not equipped to actually conceptualize the impact of most ballot initiatives. I think my brother - whose job it used to be to take an official position on ballot initiatives and whose advice people would actually follow - is the only person I know capable of making such educated decisions...continue to full post
