Engle on the Convention on the Rights of the Child

By Lawrence Solum

ADVERTISEMENTS
Eric Engle (Harvard University - Harvard Law School and Universität Bremen) has posted The Convention on the Rights of the Child on SSRN. Here is the abstract:
The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) presents lofty goals for children?s rights. However, it does not present effective enforcement mechanisms for their implementation. This paper tries to show how the lofty goals of the CRC can be implemented via supplemental treaties and national legislation to complement and complete the goals set out in the CRC and by a structured conceptualization of human rights which renders those rights legally unambiguous.
