Texas Historical Marker Application approved for SBPS offices at the Hub

By Michael C. Smith

ADVERTISEMENTS

THC marker app I am happy to report that we just received notification from the Texas Historical Commission that our application for an official Texas Historical Marker for the historic Hub Shoe Store which preceded us in our building has been approved.  Hub- 582 The marker will presumably go on the outside wall of the building we've renovated into our law firm's offices.

We've actually reserved space in the center of the facade in anticipation of a successful marker application by trunking the downspouts over (and fighting off the electric company's request to put its meter there and the post office's request that we put up an outside mailbox).  The THC often puts markers up on poles, but given that we already have something up on a pole out front (the aforementioned "Hub") I am hoping for a wall-mounted marker.
