Was Your Job Outsourced? Did You Get to File a Bankruptcy in Arizona?

By Joseph McDaniel, Esq.

ADVERTISEMENTS
I have had the pleasure of talking to many bright, highly-educated folks who had great jobs.

The operative word here is "had".

Now, several of them had a special opportunity: they were so good at their jobs, and at teaching, that they were asked to teach an international group located in India how to do what they did.

So they did.

The operative phrase is "had a great job, until I taught those folks exactly how to do what I did".

I suppose they should now look for a great job in an outsourcing company.

Or they can come home after a fruitless day of looking for work, and join me in watching my new favorite show TV, Outsourced. When Madhuri sang at the Indian Idol Contest (episode 111), I thought I would die! She has a voice like an angel, and she is so sweet!

And when the eeeeevil assistant manager breaks into song with "I Wanna Dance with Somebody", I applauded his remarkable talent. What a great actor! And that girl from Australia: wow is about the only comment I can manage! She's so pretty I almost started generating testosterone again.

Now, there is no disputing that outsourcing is great for India, and that makes me happy!

But I have to wonder, with real unemployment hovering at around twenty per cent (I'm in the trenches; I get to see it up close and personal) if outsourcing is really very good for the United States, and the people who live here.

Except for the TV Show, Outsourced. That is very good for the United States!

The Reality Show Outsourced, not so much.

I am especially sorry for kids who come out of schools with engineering degrees, or computer degrees, or other degrees that require study instead of party, who get to discover that their entire industry is in the process of being...(wait for it) Outsourced!
