From my inbox:

LYNDHURST ? State Treasurer-elect Josh Mandel announced today the senior staff in his new administration. ?I have assembled a team of experienced professionals who will manage the Ohio Treasury with integrity and expertise,? Mandel said.  ?My administration will protect Ohioans' hard-earned tax dollars and work on creative ways to fuel small business growth.  In these tough economic times, government effectiveness and efficiency will be of the highest priority at the Ohio Treasury.

Bill Bishilany, Deputy Treasurer

Bill Bishilany has diverse management experience, having fifteen years of service in government and eighteen years experience as a small business owner.  A seasoned government administrator, Bishilany served as Director of Public Works for the City of Seven Hills since 2004, after previously serving on Seven Hills City Council from 1995 to 2003, including six years as Council President.

Bishilany was previously the President and owner of a small business and the Vice President and General Manager of a $45 million manufacturing company.  Bishilany served as the Executive Vice President for the Greater Cleveland Suburban Council Association and as Assistant Treasurer for Parma Community General Hospital?s Board of Directors.  As an appointee of Governor Strickland in 2008, Bishilany also served on the State Emergency Response Committee.  Bishilany is a graduate of the University of Akron.

Jennifer Day, Chief Operating Officer

Jennifer Day brings more than twenty years of experience in local and state government service to the Treasurer?s office.  Day has nearly eight years of Treasury operational management experience, as she previously served in the Treasurer?s Office as the Director of Revenue Management, last serving under Treasurer Richard Cordray.  Jennifer is currently Chief of the Crime Victims Assistance & Prevention Section under Attorney General Richard Cordray.  Prior to her service in state government, Day worked as a Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and Assistant Prosecutor in the Hamilton County Prosecutor?s Office.  Day, an Ohio Certified Public Manager, graduated from the University of Kentucky and received her Juris Doctor from the Chase College of Law.

Seth Metcalf, General Counsel and Director of Legal and Financial Affairs

Seth Metcalf recently left the Columbus office of international law firm Squire Sanders & Dempsey, L.L.P., to join the Mandel administration as General Counsel and Director of Legal and Financial Affairs.  As a member of Squire's national municipal bond practice and public finance tax group, Metcalf participated in billions of dollars of governmental financings by states, counties, cities and other governmental authorities.  Metcalf regularly presents at national conferences on federal tax matters and has served as faculty for continuing legal education courses.  Metcalf graduated from The Ohio State University, cum laude, and Cornell University Law School.

Mandel was elected as Ohio?s next Treasurer of State on November 2, 2010.  With strong bi-partisan support, Mandel carried 80 of Ohio?s 88 counties and was the top vote-getter of all the statewide executive candidates.  Mandel will take office as Ohio?s 48th Treasurer of State on January 10, 2011.

State Treasurer-elect Mandel will be available to the media for interviews and additional comments.  To schedule time or for further information, please contact Angela Hawkins at (614) 264-4021.
