Mandel joins McGuireWoods in L.A.

McGuireWoods LLP announced that Michael Mandel has joined the firm?s Los Angeles office as a partner with the Labor and Employment group, where he will counsel clients on all aspects of labor and employment litigation.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Mandel was a partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLP in Los Angeles, where he worked with Anne Jollay and Bashir Eustache, who also joined McGuireWoods as counsel and associate, respectively, within the past six months.

Mandel brings to the firm extensive experience defending wage and hour class actions and single-plaintiff lawsuits in federal and state courts, at both the trial and appellate court levels. Mandel has represented employers in a broad array of industries, including retail, hospitality, insurance, staffing, manufacturing, and not-for-profit community service organizations.

Mandel earned a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2001, where he was a member of the Pepperdine Law Review. He is a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Awards for Excellence in Real Property, Remedies and Professional Responsibility. He is a former extern for the United States District Court Judge Ronald S.W. Lew in the Central District of California in Downtown Los Angeles. He is a member of the Labor and Employment and Litigation sections of the American Bar Association, California Bar Association, and the Los Angeles Bar Association.
