: Eastern District of Texas Federal Court PracticeSBPS news: merit badge workshops in Marshall
By Michael C. Smith
The week after Christmas may be a slow week for law-related work, but the SBPS office in Marshall was busy this morning anyway, hosting 15 Boy Scouts of Troop 550, including my oldest, Grayson, who were attending a four-day merit badge workshop. This morning was Citizenship in the Community in our 111 side conference room (spilling out just a bit into the war room space, but that's what it was designed for).
Part of the currciculum included watching the Texas Young Lawyers Association's outstanding They Had a Dream Too video about the role young people played in the civil rights movement. I realized too late that the program is an 11th and 12th grade project, but it seemed to get the point across, and as always I highly recommend it.
