$875,000 Settlement Reached in Shooting of Marine

The city of Willmington, Del., has agreed to an $875,000 settlement with the family of a former Marine who was shot and killed by police in 2006. Officers were investigating the Pagans Motorcycle Club at the time, the suit says, and witnesses said the man was lying on a stoop when police arrived and shot him, apparently for no reason. A Department of Justice investigation in 2007 cleared the officers of any wrongdoing.
