Ohio Senate Could Expel Grendell and Fix This Problem.

State Senator Tim Grendell

Statehouse news sources are reporting today that State Senator Tim Grendell, who was elected to the Ohio House in November, will refuse to take that seat and remain in the Senate.  Grendell says publicly that he won't resign from the Senate because his potential replacements don't reflect his values.  The real reason, as multiple sources have told me and reported, is that the Ohio Senate won't appoint his wife, Appellate Judge Diane Grendell to the Senate seat.

There is a simple answer to this problem.  The Ohio Senate could simply expel Tim Grendell from its ranks because of his unethical actions.  Ohio's Constitution grants authority to the Ohio Senate to expel a member by a two-thirds vote of its membership.  No reason is required for an expulsion, but certainly fraud upon the voters is a good start.
