Cool It, A New Film By the Author of the Skeptical Environmentalist

By The Pullins Group LLC

ADVERTISEMENTS
Opens this weekend. Here's some more info from my inbox:

Entertainment is a powerful worldview shaper.  In Richard Weaver's book Ideas Have Consequences he predicted that we will increasingly believe what is true through visual images and narrative language.  At Clapham, we believe engaging with narrative entertainment is, especially in a postmodern and post-literate culture, essential to carrying on "conversations with consequences."

Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth is a case in point.  His documentary uniquely elevated and popularized his view of global warming, and fundamentally shaped the debate since.  Thousands of schools and families have watched it, and their belief of what is true has been shaped perhaps generationally.

This weekend Cool It, a documentary produced by friends Terry Botwick and Ralph Winter, and our fourth project with Roadside Attractions (Bella, Amazing Grace and Trade) will be released in major markets.

Cool It premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and is based upon the book of the same name and lectures by Bjorn Lomborg, the controversial author of The Skeptical Environmentalist. Award-winning filmmaker Ondi Timoner travels the world with Lomborg exploring the real facts and true science of global warming and its impact.

Lomborg is the founder and director of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, a globally respected think tank that brings together the world's leading economists to prioritize major global problems -- among them malaria, the lack of potable water and HIV/AIDS -- based upon a cost/benefit analysis of available solutions. Amidst the strong and polarized opinions within the global warming debate, Cool It follows Lomborg on his mission to bring the smartest solutions to climate change, environmental pollution, and other major problems in the world.
