The Latest Score in the Browser Wars

By admin

ADVERTISEMENTS

I am always interested in what’s happening with browsers. I know desktop/laptop browsers are declining in importance as mobile and TV access surges but still . . .

From Mashable:

With Less than 50% Market Share, IE Is Now Losing the Browser Wars

And in ReadWriteWeb:

<strong>Internet Explorer Drops Below 50% Market Share Worldwide

“When you look at the browser wars on a more regional level, IE is still above 50% in North America, while it has dropped as low as 40% in Europe. In Asia, IE is even more dominant, with nearly 60% of the market. Almost universally, Firefox holds a strong position in second place. Worldwide, Chrome holds the third spot easily, though the browser battles it out with Safari in North America.”

Sooooo – as you design and test your websites for library end users, you gotta consider the browsers equally as well as mobile (dare I mention TV access). It’s getting more complicated every day.
