: GamePolitics.comMicrosoft's Ballmer Calls Out China of Piracy
By james_fudge
Speaking at a business conference in Madrid this week, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer did something most companies don't have the guts to do: point fingers at China and its government about rampant software piracy. Ballmer said that Chinese businesses were the biggest offenders - even more so than individuals.
Ballmer said that business software piracy has decreased all over the world. But in China, he calls the situation "terrible." He also noted that business software piracy is "more extreme" than piracy among the average consumer. Microsoft is working with the Chinese government to deal with the problem, says Ballmer, but said that the situation is a real problem for his company.
