Just Married

My lovely wife Alison and I recently returned from our wedding (NY Times announcement here). Several VC Conspirators were in attendance. We would like to thank all of our readers and fellow denizens of the blogosphere for their good wishes.

We would also like to express our gratitude to Judge Jerry E. Smith of the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit for coming all the way from Texas to officiate. Regular VC readers may recall that Judge Smith is the judge that co-conspirator Todd Zywicki and I clerked for. Special thanks as well to Tyler Cowen of Marginal Revolution fame for giving a great talk at the wedding. The enterprising Tyler even wrote a post about it while the wedding was still going on. If not for Tyler, we would never have known that Charles Darwin had so many interesting thoughts about marriage. 

Rising blogosphere star Josh Blackman deserves great credit for his excellent work on livestreaming the wedding so that my grandparents (who could not attend for health reasons) were able to watch from home.

Thanks also goes to the Institute for Humane Studies for organizing the party where Alison and I met in August 2008. Senior Conspirator Eugene Volokh has our gratitude for unwittingly facilitating this happy event by inviting me to join the VC. Without going into too much detail, let?s just say that it?s easier to ask out a beautiful woman when she already knows who you are from having read your blog posts.

Last but not least, we would like to thank all of our wonderful friends and relatives whom we have already acknowledged privately.

Because of the structure of the academic year, we can?t go on our planned honeymoon to Greece for a number of months. So I will return to regularly scheduled blogging soon.
