Recruitment Trip

Wednesday I left for Sydney with a few IB&M students as well as the director of the initiative. It was nice to see the east side of the island in September for the first time since 1999. Thursday was the Barrister?s meeting at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre. The topic related to Aboriginal rights, so it was nice to attend that.

Friday was our big recruitment day. We went to Eskasoni High School in the morning, Sydney Academy before 12 noon, and then CBU in the afternoon. It was great talking to Black and Mi?kmaw students, sharing our stories and inspirations for law school, and of course, trying to expose them to the opportunities out there for them.

The only down side of our trip was that I missed three days of work, and I am kind of behind right now in almost all my subjects. I worked most of the day, and will be going at it again tomorrow. Since I got two exams in December, I figure I should focus on more so on those courses for now, although I will be needing to get cracking on my other courses as well too.
