ADVERTISEMENTS
I blog for paralegals, legal assistants, legal secretaries, paralegal students, paralegal educators, and all the other legal professionals essential to the practice of law - as well as the attorneys who want to get to know us better. Once a week (or every other week when I get behind), I share links to a half dozen or so articles focusing on legal news and humor, practice tips and technology. This week's list is a little longer since I missed last week:
This photo was included in 15 Incredible iPhone Dog Photographs (Mashable). It made me smile. I hope it makes you smile.

Anonymity (A Paralegal's Journey to Lawyerhood) ~ Kudos for a thoughtful discussion about the risks of anonymous blogging for legal professionals.
Paralegals & Social Media (Haley Lobs Law Bomb) ~ Haley Odom recommends that law firms encourage their paralegals to contribute to their firm blogs. I think the day will come, if it's not already here, when a prospective employer might ask a paralegal during an interview whether she has the writing and technology skills needed to contribute to the firm's blog, Twitter account and/or Facebook page.
Forms and UPL (The Empowered Paralegal) ~ North Carolina paralegal Wendy Kimbel discusses when sharing a legal form becomes UPL. A highlight of attending the North Carolina Paralegal Association's 26th Mid-Year Conference in Asheville this weekend was meeting Wendy in person.
Clio: The Easy Practice Management Option (Paralegalese) ~ Melissa Hinote gives Clio, a web-based practice management system, two thumbs up.
N.J. Court OKs Googling Jurors During Voir Dire (LTN) ~ I love the court's statement "that [plaintiff's counsel] had the foresight to bring his laptop computer to court, and the defense counsel did not, simply cannot serve as a basis for judicial intervention in the name of 'fairness' or maintaining 'a level playing field.' The playing field was, in fact, already 'level' because Internet access was open to both counsel, even if only one of them chose to utilize it."
8 Google Instant Tips (PCWorld) ~ I haven't gotten used to Google Instant yet. Sometimes it seems to "jump the gun" on my searches. What do you think?
What Are People Saying About You? (Divorce Discourse) ~ North Carolina family lawyer Lee Rosen discusses the benefits of using Google Alert to keep up with anything published about you on the web.
Five Best Fax Services (Lifehacker) ~ This post describes the five most popular services for sending and receiving faxes from a computer.
Top 5 Social Network Disorders (PCWorld) ~ UTL, or Unrequited Twitter Love, is devastating, Tweeple, just devastating.

Don't forget that you still have plenty of time to enter Practical Paralegalism's contest to win the first five books in Sue Ann Jaffarian's Odelia Grey Mystery Series. For more details, click here.
