Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels: Congressional Republicans Have Done ?Not Too Darn Much?

By Speaker's Press Shop

ADVERTISEMENTS

In a recent interview with TIME Magazine, Republican Governor Mitch Daniels of Indiana was asked what Congressional Republicans have done to position themselves in the upcoming midterm elections. He responded: ?Not too darn much.?

Don?t be so modest, Governor Daniels. Congressional Republicans have been working hard, voting:

Against creating jobs and helping the middle class dig out of the Bush/GOP recession

Against closing tax loopholes that encourage corporations to ship good-paying American jobs overseas

Against tax cuts for 98 percent of American workers

Against protecting Americans from the recklessness of Wall Street executives

Against tax incentives and lending to small businesses that would create 450,000-500,000 new American jobs, as well as almost all of the eight small business tax cuts that have already been enacted into law

Instead, the Republicans are saying yes to their extreme agenda:

Yes to extending the Bush Tax cuts for the wealthiest few that will add $700 billion to the deficit

Yes to privatizing and cutting Social Security for America?s seniors

Yes to dismantling Medicare for America?s seniors

Yes to Recovery Act job-creation funds and health reform grants that they voted against
