University of Washington Student Wins Penny Arcade Scholarship

Penny Arcade this week awarded a $10,000 scholarship to Jeffrey Lin from the University of Washington. Lin won the hearts and minds of scholarship judges with his plan to study how vision scientists can help contribute in the game design field. Lin was apparently already working on a study related to vision cognition and video game players.

The Penney Arcade Scholarship celebrates four years of helping give students that want to study games or game-related topics financial aid. While financial need and leadership are a part of the criteria when selecting a recipient, a major selling point for judges is how an individual's studies will impact the game industry.

Details on the 2011 Penny Arcade scholarship will be released early next year.
