: Legal Pad | LAL.A. Judge delays med-marijuana decision

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Anthony J. Mohr put off a decision last week on whether to bar the city from enforcing its new medical marijuana ordinance against Green Horizon Collective in Chatsworth, 420 Caregivers in Hollywood, 420 Collective in Mar Vista and Organic Healing Center in Eagle Rock.
Mohr said he believes the statute has "some shortcomings," but conceded that the City Council?s efforts to regain control over the increased number of dispensaries may be valid even if flawed.
The pivotal issue, according to Mohr, is whether the City Council can restrict the dispensaries to those that registered with the city in 2007. He asked both sides to submit additional briefs by July 23, and he will rule after that.
