: Stephen's LighthouseBack to School Booklets for Libraries
By admin
Back to school may seem a long way off but it’s not too soon to start thinking about how your library can help parents get their kids ready for a new school year.
The Public Library Association (PLA), a division of the American Library Association, has teamed up with Merck to distribute A Fresh New School Year! This informational booklet, intended for parents of preteens and teens, offers tips and advice to keep kids happy and healthy as they head back to school. Topics include how to calm first day jitters, ways to stay safe with digital media, and questions to ask at back-to-school physicals.
Sign up to receive your FREE copies of A Fresh New School Year! and help parents in your community send their kids to school with confidence.
Booklets will be shipped with an easy-to-assemble “take one” display unit. Click here to see a preview copy and review program guidelines. The first 100 libraries (with service populations of at least 10,000) to sign up will receive 300 booklets at no charge. Distribute these pamphlets at your existing family programs this summer and prominently display them at your library to reach a wide audience of parents and caregivers. And, by completing a brief survey about the program by September 17, you will receive a $50 honorarium!
