Congratulations!

BISMOW started his new job today. For a variety of boring reasons (i.e. financial and the like) this is a very good thing. He is a lawyer and with the dismal market out there, the fact that he was able to make not only a change but an "upward" one at that is pretty awesome. I'm very happy for him and I hope that his new job will be a much better commute and happier over-all experience. Not to say he didn't like his last job, but for another slew of boring reasons it wasn't going to pan out to be all that it could be.

So. New job. And with the help of Eddie, to whom I own one million trillion thank-you's, I was able to score the best gift ever that he is going to get tonight. What is it you might ask? A cake filled with sexy scantily clad ladies?* Perhaps a new Ferrari?** Or maybe a Picasso*** to hang in his new office...or um, whatever sort of personal space those government workers get these days....but no, no Picasso, nude women or fancy cars.

Instead, drumroll please, with the help of Eddie, I've secured:

Playoff tickets to see his most favorite NHL team of all time.

The team he adores and loves and tries so hard to watch but always gets shot down becuase "Honey can you help me in the kitchen? I've cut myself. Again. Chopping onions." or something equally silly. So as a 'congrats!' and 'I'm sorry you've missed so much hockey' I have these tickets for him. They completely killed my budget for um, some new stuff from J.Crew, but thats ok. The smile on his face when he opens the envelope will be totally worth it.

* He doesn't get gifts of that sort from me. And he'd better not get them from anyone else, you hear?

** Hahahaha. Like I can afford that. Besides, I think Ferrari's look silly. If I could hypothetically speaking get him an awesome car he would come home to a BMW 7 series. But I can't so it is really just a moo point.

*** Ditto on the painting. Although I do like Picasso. And I'd totally buy him one. But right now, with law school loans and the like, he can have a Picasso print. And some thumb tacks.
