: Legal Pad | LAJeffer Mangels real estate finance team jumps ship -- again
By Richard Binder
Four lawyers at Jeffer, Mangels, Butler & Marmaro, plus staff, are packing their bags for the second time in 18 months. The real estate finance team last week joined Atlanta-based Troutman Sanders.
Martin Taylor, Dan Chambers and Jennifer Irrgang Bojorquez have joined Troutman as partners and Meghan Sherrill as an associate. Other additions include a contract attorney, two paralegals and two secretaries, all of whom came from the Irvine office of Jeffer Mangels. The group had joined Jeffer Mangels in February 2009 after seven years at Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Rutan & Tucker.
"We left Rutan with the idea of building a financial practices group
with a national reach, and we had thought that, given the platform of
Jeffer Mangels, we would be able to accomplish that," Taylor said. "We
realized after a time that we would not be able to accomplish that at
Jeffer Mangels, and so we determined that it would be best for us to
find a firm that had a national platform."
