And the Winner of the Connecticut Paralegal of the Year Award Is...

...Patricia "Pattie" Chouinard, employed by Shipman & Goodwin, which has offices in Hartford, Stamford, Greenwich and Lakeville, Connecticut, as well as Washington, DC. According to the firm's website, Chouinard works in the firm's corporate department.

Chouinard's employer proudly spread the word of her achievements:

Ms. Chouinard has made extensive contributions to the paralegal field over the years. She has volunteered with the Central Connecticut Paralegal Association and the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, including authoring numerous articles for their publications; mentored paralegal students; participated in pro bono and charity activities performed in connection with the Central Connecticut Paralegal Association; and has been committed to advancing the paralegal profession through her dedication to providing excellence in client service.
Kudos to Chouinard for being named the first winner of the award by The Connecticut Alliance of Paralegal Associations. Kudos to her firm for announcing the honor via a press release. And kudos to Connecticut for creating an annual day to honor paralegals in 1994, which is celebrated on the first Friday of June.
