Are There Any Insolvent Bankruptcy Clients being sued on their Second Mortgages in Arizona that You DON'T Want to Help?

By Joseph McDaniel, Esq.

Well.

My love is free; I don't love everybody, like the Good Book says, but I'm working on it. I don't know if I'll get there first, or the undertaker will catch up with me first, but I'm watching that process with serious attention.

On the other hand, I want to help as many people as I can.

I know from my last thirty years of experience that some folks help me help them file and process their bankruptcy cases.

In effect, they are tourists in the Dangerous Bankruptcy Jungle who listen to me, their Bankruptcy Tour Guide, and keep their arms and heads INSIDE the tour bus.

And thus avoid being pulled outside the bus and eaten by the bankruptcy lions and tigers and bears.

I really dislike it when people on my personal Bankruptcy Tour Bus get eaten. I have to return their wristwatches and pens (not digestible, you know) to their next of kin, and nobody is really happy during a meeting like that.

"Here's his watch and half of his pen. He wouldn't keep his hands inside the bus. I'm so sorry."

Now, the analogy of the tour bus breaks down in bankruptcy cases, of course, but the ideal of uncooperative clients does not.

If a client does his homework, and tells me the answers to my questions during our first sit-down, that helps.

If a client refuses to do their homework before we meet, that makes the analysis much more difficult and time consuming.

And there are some folks who just aren't a good fit as my clients, including folks with less than twenty thousand dollars worth of unsecured debt.

I love 'em, but I'm probably the wrong tool for that job.

Mind you, I want to help them all; but I can't help a client if the client won't help me help them. And with some folks, I'm just not a good fit.

Which is why I keep a rolodex of other bankruptcy lawyers; by this time, I know a lot of other lawyers, and I have a pretty good idea who a good fit for most folks will be, if not with me.

And I want everybody to have the smoothest ride possible through Bankruptcyland, which is much more dangerous and scarier after the BARF Act was passed.
