Medtronic Spinal and Biologics is seeking a Patent Counsel (II) to work in Memphis, Tennessee. As a member of the Core Spine IP team and being accountable for the IP of the Medtronic Spinal and Biologics Business, the Patent Counsel II has the following responsibilities:

? Communicate and work effectively with legal and business, management, customers, and business partners providing legal counsel on a wide variety of IP issues.

? Manage the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications by outside counsel, lead invention disclosure reviews, and draft some patent applications internally.

? Conduct feedom-to-practice, infringement, non-infringement, and invalidity evaluations and prepare or obtain opinions regarding the same.

? Additional responsibilities include perfroming IP due diligence, understanding of competitor products/patents, support of general legal matters.

The ideal individual will have a Bachelors or advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, JD, and at least 7 years of practice (Corporate and Law Firm).
