Texas Execution

Texas is scheduled to carry out its 1tth execution of the year, tonight in Huntsville.  It would be the state's 458th execution since 1982.  Texas has far and away the most active death chamber in America, accounting for more than 37% of the nation's post-Furman executions.  To date, there have been 22 executions in the nation in 2010, and 1,210 executions since 1977.The AP reports, "Allen man is set to die tonight in wife's slaying," in the case of Rogelio Cannady,  It's written by Michael Graczyk, via the Dallas Morning News.An Allen man who was convicted in the 1991 slaying of his estranged wife is scheduled to be executed today. John Alba, 54, will be the 11th Texas inmate executed this year unless his attorneys succeed with an appeal filed Monday in state court...continue to full post
