: Illinois Car and Truck Accident Lawyer BlogToyota Offers a Fix for S.U.V.?s Control Problems
By Hurley, McKenna & Murtz
Toyota said Thursday, ?it had resumed sales of the Lexus GX 460 after fixing a problem with the stability control system that could cause the luxury sport utility vehicle to roll over.? (N. Bunkley and M. Maynard, 4/29, NY Times) These actions came after a highly-public consumer reports warning against purchasing the car.
The fix, according to the company is a software upgrade for the vehicle, which has been distributed to dealers who have been instructed to schedule repairs. This news comes only a day after Toyota issued another recall, this one regarding the 2003 model of the Toyota Sequoia. Although no accidents had resulted, Toyota plans to upgrade the stability control systems on the recalled vehicles.
As a car and truck accident attorney, I am glad that Toyota has found a fix to the issues with it?s SUV?s, and as always, I encourage consumers to remain aware of recalls and act quickly if necessary.
