: New York City Personal Injury LawyerCribs Made by LaJobi Recalled
By Chrissie Cole
Graco-brand drop side cribs, made by LaJobi, have been recalled in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, due to a safety hazard that poses a risk of suffocation and strangulation to infants and toddlers.
According to information posted on the LaJobi Web site, 'If the lower locking tab is broken or damaged on the drop side it can detach from cribs; thereby, creating a hazardous gap between the drop side and the crib mattress in which infants and toddlers can become entrapped and suffocate.'
To date, there have been 99 incidents reported to the agency associated with this recall.
The CPSC News Release includes a detailed list of all cribs affected by the recall including corresponding model numbers and photos. They were sold at children's retail stores nationwide from February 2007 to March 2010.
Consumers are advised to contact LaJobi for a free hardware kit that will immobilize the drop side of the crib. The agency urges parents to not use the cribs and to find an alternative, safe sleeping environment.
For more information, call LaJobi at (888) 842-2215 anytime, or visit their Web site at www.LaJobi.com.
