: New York City Personal Injury LawyerFive FDNY Injured in Brooklyn Blaze
By Paul Napoli
Five firefighters sustained injuries while fighting a blaze at a Brooklyn townhouse, reported WCBSTV.com.
FDNY responded to a two-alarm fire at 192 Concord Street in the Fort Green section of Brooklyn on Thursday after a neighbor called 911 to report the fire about 4:30 a.m. in the morning. They evacuated most of the surrounding block and horrified neighbors looked on as an intense blaze engulfed the three-story townhouse.
The residents of the townhouse, a man and his grown son, escaped without injury. Three firefighters suffered burns and smoke inhalation. Two more firefighters sustained serious injuries when the stairs and banister collapsed upon them as they tried to escape the building.
WPIX.com reports that the injured were transported to Weill-Cornell Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital.
'The banister for the stairwell gave way and they both came down on top of each other,' FDNY Deputy Chief Vincent Mandala told WCBS-TV.
