Forget the McDonald's Lawsuit, Lindsay-gate will SuperSize Frivolity

By Steve Lombardi

ADVERTISEMENTS

Have you watched the commercial with wolf-boy from E*Trade yakking with his baby girlfriend about that milkaholic Lindsay? I love those commercials; the baby investor is an absolute riot. Here take a look first with Frank and the shankapottamous and then the milkaholic Lindsay.

I'll bet I've watched them a 100 times and never once did I draw any conclusions about who Lindsay might be – until today when I read about a $100M US lawsuit that's being reported in the New York Times. See for yourself.

'Lindsay Lohan is crying over spilled milk.'

Well folks here it is, it's reported that Lindsay Lohan has filed a $100,000,000.00 lawsuit against E-Trade because the commercial uses the name 'Lindsay'. Talk about disconnecting with reality… this is the lawsuit to watch as the lawyers go down in flames. This is better than OJ and the McDonald's verdicts. Let's see how angry people get over this one that may eventually end up in the frivolous garbage can of litigation. Here is a quote from the New York Times post, Lindsay Lohan wants $100M over E-Trade ad, by Kieran Crowley.

The lawyer said that since the spot was seen by hundreds of millions of people watching the Super Bowl and Winter Olympics finals, the firm has garnered great profits.

She says Lohan is owed $50 million in exemplary damages, plus another $50 million in compensatory damages.

E-Trade could not be reached for comment.

What shankapottamous filed this lawsuit? Please tear up their law license if for no other reason than for stupidity. Oh please! Must we suffer through this teenage-style hissy fit? As if the Courts don't have enough to do already. Budgets are stretched to the max and now they get to hear motions in Lindsay-gate.

If she wins, I'm next. If she can sue for just using the name Lindsay then I want big bucks from every actor who has every used the name Steve, Stephen, Steven or Stevie. I'll start with Steve Martin, Steve Windwood, Steven Seagal, the Steve Miller Band, Steve Lombardi the wrestler, punitive damages against Steve Lombardi the Yankee blog fan because as a Red Sox fan it's disgraceful for him to use my name publicly; but I won't sue Steve Carell because I like the Office too much. And let's not forget the Big Steve's that include Saint Stephen, Pope Stephen I thru IX, Spielberg, Jobs, Hawkins, Baldwin, Colbert, King and the mother of all Steve's, Stevie Ray Vaughn. Defendants might also include the estates of Royalty like Stephen of Armenia, England, Hungary, Moldavia, Poland, Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria. There are others but this is a start.

And don't get me started on the Lombardi Trophy! If I can sue for commerical use of the name Lombardi I'll be packing it in and heading to greener pastures. Barbara pack the RV we are buying the entire East Coast! OMG we are rich!
