Children's Greeting Cards With Bracelets Recalled

By Chrissie Cole

ADVERTISEMENTS

Schurman Fine Papers, in cooperation with Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, recently announced a voluntary recall of greeting cards with attached bracelets.

The paint coating on the bracelets contains high levels of lead. No illnesses have been reported, however parents and caregivers are being advised to take the products away from children.

Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

The recall involves Papyrus brand children's greeting cards with an attached wooden bead bracelet. The front of the card says 'Happy Birthday To You' and includes an attached bracelet. The UPC number is 734524634013 and can be found in the lower right hand corner.

Consumers can call Schurman Fine Papers at (888) 990-9095 to arrange a refund and for additional information.
