: New York City Personal Injury LawyerGlass Atrium Collapses onto Party at Sony Building, 10 injured
By Paul Napoli
February 28, 2010
Ice and glass rained down on revelers at a costume party last night as part of the roof collapsed, reported the New York Daily News.
The glass atrium of the Sony Building on Madison Avenue near E. 55th Street reportedly collapsed under the weight of accumulated snow about 11:15 p.m., sending glass and ice falling to the lobby below where a party of about 300 people at Solo Restaurant was celebrating Purim, a Jewish festival.
Partygoers ran screaming from the building. Police soon arrived to evacuate the building.
Ten people were injured, some transported to nearby hospitals.
The website www.tmz.com and the New York Post reported that "Sex and the City" actor Chris Noth and "Jersey Shore" cast members Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi and Vinny Guadagnino were among the party guests. They were unhurt.
'Omg roof just collapsed,' tweeted Snooki.
