Lawsuit: Document Search Costs Too High

A Florida man has filed a lawsuit against University Community Hospital in Tampa Bay after the hospital said it would cost the man more than $1 million to search their records for adverse incident reports on his surgeon. The lawsuit demands the hospital reveal how much it actually costs for them to search through their documents ? they claim as much as $75,000 per year of records. William D. Raulerson has requested documents from the hospital on Dr. Antonio Castellvi, whom he claims performed inadequate back surgery on him. Lawyers for the plaintiff claim the high costs are to deter patients from obtaining important information on their doctors.
