Would You Live In A Blob?

By Chuck Newton

ADVERTISEMENTS

I do not know about this.  It seems interesting, but the Blob reminds me of the egg from the old sitcom Mork & Mindy.  Maybe the Blob is a little bit bigger.  But, if you are looking for an attention getting design that might house your small one person law office, maybe something like this is just the ticket.

This made with a polyester skin, and although it looks a little weird, it is mobile and entertaining.  What it represents is an experimental, small, space-optimal design that fits in a bathroom, kitchen, shelving and storage, and sleeping quarters, all within a 20 meters square interior.  The egg shape building also opens up to create a shaded porch for when you need fresh air.

Called "Blob VB3" by the architectural firm dmvA, take a look at it below and judge for yourself.
